Francesca Cannella is the winner of the Coco Song Award’s second edition

Francesca Cannella’s “Golden Temple”’s project has won the second edition of the Coco Song Award, the competition sponsored by Area98 in collaboration with Harim Accademia Euromediterranea to offer talented young designers the opportunity to give their own interpretation of the Coco Song collection. Francesca, student at the second-year class from the fourth-year course of Jewelery Design, took inspiration from the art of the black ceramic, which during the Song dynasty reached the pick of its refinement, becoming one of the greatest expressions of the ancient Chinese culture. The application of colored silk inserts, as for example the yellow ones, is an homage to the tiles of the ancient Chinese imperial buildings. This singular texture, with its bold hues, refines an accessorize of a great visual impact which, despite its originality, remains faithful to the Coco Song philosophy.

The official announcement of the Coco Song Award has been made on the 27th September after a selection process in which the five prototypes realized by the five finalist students have been evaluated for their level of uniqueness, wearability and merchantability, as well as for their alignment to the brand’s reference target and the overall quality of the product from its design to its creation. Both Area98 team and Francesca Cannella are very satisfied about the “Golden Temple” frame.

The company management board is thrilled about the award developments, the creative ideas offered by the students as well as about the success proof that the contest had in and out of the company.
