Essilor among world’s most sustainable companies

Essilor has, for the third consecutive year, earned the distinction of being ranked among the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World (Global 100) Index, which is based on a list of twelve quantitative key performance indicators, from energy, water and waste productivity, to innovation and employee safety.

Commenting on the renewed recognition of the Group’s sustainability performance, Jayanth Bhuvaraghan, Essilor’s Chief Corporate Mission Officer, said “We are very proud to be ranked once again amongst the world’s most sustainable companies. At Essilor our mission is to improve lives by improving sight. For over 165 years sustainable development has been at the heart of our business model, both in the way we manage our business, but more importantly in our contribution to the 4.3 billion individuals in the world who need vision correction and the communities in which they live.”

Companies named to the Global 100 index are selected from a starting universe of 4,609 listed companies with a market capitalization greater than $2 billion (USD).
