Design meets the history of eyewear in Turin

On the occasion of “Torino Design of the City 2018” (from the 12th to the 20th of October), the Vanni showroom is holding an exhibition in collaboration with the Pieve di Cadore Eyewear Museum and Anfao.
The exhibition proposes an overview of the eyewear world: from documents about the development of the Italian eyewear industry to the enhancement of a heritage and its historical and cultural aspects, to a dialog with thirty years of projects and creations by the Vanni and Derapage brands.
Together with a collection of images of the first Italian creations of the late 1800s, some curious items from previous centuries will also be on display: from 19th century lorgnettes to folding glasses or glasses with a handle, to precious sunglasses frames in tortoise and silver, to aviator wraparounds in copper, to the technologically more advanced models of the 20th century.
